Sometimes people will come up to us out of the blue and make ridiculous claims, like we don't care about "women's issues" and such. If that were the case, why would we be putting on an art show tonight at the Lab 101 Gallery with Von Zipper to benefit breast cancer research? And even more to the point, why would we be wasting time inviting anyone who from the LA area who wants to to come starting at 6 and enjoy some good old fashioned charity drinking? Chew on that one.

London - Postsecret Exhibition

Postsecret has been around for yonks now, but that doesn't detract from the tender intimacy and visceral power of the postcards it publishes. For those of you who don't know, Postsecret is an online confessional project where people anonymously submit their darkest secrets on the back of a postcard. Foyles are hosting an exhibition to mark the UK publication of the book.

New York - Photo Exhibition Party

We had another party for our photo issue's photo exhibition in partnership with PF Flyers at the Silverstein Gallery on Monday. The party was at 535 W. 24th St., and there were delicious free sandwiches, drinks and dessert, installations by artists Little Jacket, and a couple that kept running into the back of the gallery to make out like nobody would see. Photos from the party are up on the photoblog. All in all, it was a great night and we're having another one on Friday. Come early because it ends at 10 and the orange juice for the mixed drinks runs out way before then.

London - Crass Art For Sale!

Starting from Thursday, our friends at the 96 Gillespie Gallery in Finsbury Park London are having a summer exhibition where you’ll be able to buy sculptures and artwork by Gee Vaucher, the woman responsible for the overall look of Crass artwork / political flyers. Pictured here is one of her human / animal thingamajigs. There’s also going to be stuff for sale and on show by people like Daniel Higgs (Lungfish), Ed & Deanna Templeton, Cynthia Connelly, Angela Boatwright, Allison Shnackenberg and the gallery’s curators Pat Graham & Melanie Standage.

New York – 6th Annual Photo Issue Exhibition

Last night we had an opening for the photo issue’s photo show at Silverstein Photography, 535 West 24th Street. Free Simon and Brian DeGraw DJ’d and a girl named Joanne shit in her pants (just a tiny bit). We’re going to have another one there when the photo issue comes out on July 12th and then another one when we take it down on July 21st. Even though it’s invite only you kind of have to get their early because it gets fucking packed.

NEW ZEALAND - DOWN WE GO TOGETHER

If you're in Auckland on Thursday night (20/4) we're putting on a show in conjunction with Enjoi skateboards to profile some of the VICE-styled photography by Enjoi pro and VICE photog, Jerry Hsu (that's one of his photos from Russia). There will also be work by other Enjoi teamriders, music by DJ Stiv and a couple of quiet beers courtesy of the great people at Tiger.
