We over here at VICE were recently reminiscing about the first time we met 120 Days. We were all at a BBQ on a roof and we hung out, ate Mexican, drank beers and smoked a lot of cigarettes. The fellas were about to play some shows before CMJ, had recently released their first self-titled record and had no idea that less than a year later, they'd have 2 Norwegian Grammy Awards and the accolades of some of the most prestigious publications in the States. They were just eating plantains and trying to understand why some of us were really into knowing what the baseball score was.
As we anxiously await what 120 Days comes up with on their new record, they give us the Sedated Times EP. Out on Tuesday, it's 7 tracks of tranced-out, head-bobbing, dance-inducing deliciousness. If you saw them on any of their shirtless tour dates, you heard "So This Is Suicide," and very likely heard this jam, "Justine."

In many countries, the rank of Marshal is the highest Army rank. Tomorrow the rank of Marshal (the Bloc Party fan club kind) gets you tix before civilians for the first two shows of their 9th American tour. And as if that wasn't exciting enough, one of the dates is for the ever-loving Theatre at Madison Square Garden. Tickets go on sale to Marshals tomorrow, June 26 and to the general public on Friday, June 29th at 9am EST.
Here's the word from Marshals:
Please do not purchase tickets here if you are not a member of Marshals, The Official Bloc Party Fan Club. Tickets purchased for this show by Non Fan Club Members will NOT be honored. Each member of Marshals can purchase up to 4 tickets per show. If you want to give your extra tickets to a Non-Member, that is ok. Join Marshals here.
The two dates on sale are:
9/28/07 Toronto, ONT @ Ricoh Coliseum
10/3/07 New York, NY @ Theatre at Madison Square Garden
More dates are due to be announced very soon, so stay tuned.

After winning two Norwegian Grammy Awards, being awarded the Album of the Year 2006 in a poll of Norwegian music journalists and named the number two show at SXSW by NME, 120 Days are not content to rest on their laurels. Before showing the world what 120 Days and Lindstrom can concoct in the Norwegian night, 120 Days will release the Sedated Times EP digitally only on June 26. Featuring tracks from their previous incarnation as Beautiful People and an exclusive reinterpretation of "Come Out Come Down Fade Out Be Gone" by Secret Machines, the Sedated Times EP is a 7 song power house of what the band has been, what they are now, and a glimpse into where the spaced out muscle of 120 Days will take us next year. Stay tuned for more info as we get closed to the Times.

Bloc Party are almost done with this jaunt of their stateside tour - so what to do to keep you cool as a cucumber on those long summer nights ahead? VICE Records fans, meet Mike Long. He's a "social rocktivist...he is anti-racist, anti-sexist, anit-homophobic, pro-choice, and pro-party. He wishes that everyone would do whatever it is that they want to do, as long as they are not walking all over someone else's civil liberties." Mike Long likes to get down, and in this world, you make it, you upload it, you work it, Mike has created a site called the Longer. On the Longer, Mike busts out some sweet, sweet moves to Black Lips' "Juvenile" and Charlotte Gainsbourg's "Operator" as well as other VICE favorites Amy Winehouse, King Khan and BBQ Show, the Slits and Jay Reatard. Check it here and prepare to get schooled.
