Charlie_2 Today we profile Charlie Crockett, 25, a print maker from London. A fashion school drop-out, he went on to co-found the clothing label A.IN.T. Then in May 2006, following the perusal of a Keith Haring book and more specifically a chalk illustration entitled “Art In Transit”, Charlie and fellow A.IN.T director Max Fowler mixed and matched their ideas and developed their own line...

LONDON - CREATIVE 30: JULIAN MAYOR

14julianmayorToday we feature Julian Mayor, 32, a product designer from London.

“Julian’s designs are derived by working across many mediums including animation, video and metal work which visibly combine to drive his design process. You get a real sense of experimentation from his work. Not all can be described as finished, but they leave you wanting to see the next instalment.” - Jimmy McDonald, Director, Tent London.

Julian Mayor is an artist and designer whose work can be found in Europe’s more conceptual design galleries. On graduating from the Royal College of Art in 2000 he worked in California for IDEO design...

LONDON - CREATIVE 30: ROSS RAISIN

13rossraisinToday we meet Ross Raisin, 28, an author from Bradford.

“God’s own country has a terrifically exciting plot and exists wonderfully within its medium of words. A writer who loves the oddities of the language, and who can create a dialect both observed and fantastic out of his collected material, is a writer who will go far.” – Philip Henscher, writer.

Ross began writing before university and continued to write during his undergraduate course at Kings College, London. He then started a creative writing MA at Goldsmiths College, London...

LONDON - CREATIVE 30: ZOE LEE

11zoeleeToday we feature Zoe Lee, 30, shoe designer from London.

“Zoe was such a fantastic talent when she worked with us, she picked up our aesthetic perfectly and worked with such diligence. She was so noticeable, I wouldn’t be surprised with her independent success one bit.” – Vivienne Westwood, fashion designer.

LONDON - CREATIVE 30: SCORCHER

10scorcher_stillToday we drop in on 22-year-old grime MC Scorcher.

"I can see in Scorcher the kind of work ethic that I saw in Dizzie and in Kano when they first started. He has that hunger for it. He is going to carry the flag for the grime community for the next generation, and push it even further.” – Wiley

North London native, Scorcher began MC-ing after hearing garage collective Heartless Crew’s infamous pirate radio shows...

LONDON - CREATIVE 30: MICACHU

9micachuToday we meet Micachu, 20, a musician from London.

“Micachu’s sounds come from found objects and homemade instruments. Her arrangements are like patchworks. There is a certain fortitude to the way she presents her songs so rawly and confidently.” – Blaine Harrison, lead vocalist - Mystery Jets.

Micachu is somewhat of Renaissance artist. She balances producing experimental pop with her band, the Shapes, with MCing in various grime collectives and her studies at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, where she won a scholarship to study composition...

LONDON - CREATIVE 30: PMH

8pmhToday we feature PMH, 28, an artist from London.

“I'm impressed by artists who work in a range of mediums and Tim does it brilliantly. Whether it’s pen and ink, photo collage or 3-D stuff - he'll try it and more often than not it works.” – Jiro Bevis, illustrator.

PMH left college with an intense hatred for his tutor, distancing himself from art for years. Thankfully, he rediscovered his love with the emergence of ‘street art’, and began the influential Finders Keepers Crew, organising illegal street galleries in London, Milan and Barcelona. In 2007, after a stringently self-imposed exile from art, Tim emerged, showcasing his work at Madrid's 'Peel Slowly and See'. He has since exhibited everywhere from Germany to New York and is currently working on his first London solo show.

7harleyweirToday we meet Harley Weir, 20, a photographer from London.

Young elfin photographer, Harley Weir, has gone from self-taught photo enthusiast to successful fashion and music photographer in a matter of months...
