Wavves, Dum Dum Girls, Best Coast, Blank Dogs... now this. I sincerely apologize for hitting you with another one-man garage band, but it seems that's the way things are going these days. I'm guessing the reason these friendless wonders are recording on their lonesome is that they are bored of other musicians meddling with their grand garage vision and just want to get on with it, though less tactful people might suggest that they're just unpopular. Either way, I am happy to sit and listen.
Spectrals is from Leeds, and is actually named Louis. His sardonic Jonathan Richman meets Mark E. Smith vocals loom high over his ace surfy music – music which belongs to the same lineage as Crystal Stilts (although it's a little less knowingly miserable).
Here's an exclusive track he sent us. He has a 7" and LP coming out on Captured Tracks, plus a four-song cassette on Suplex. He's also playing a load of shows around the UK soon, so if you're around there you can see if he gets on OK with some real bandmates.

I hear the Crystal Stilts reference for sure. This is even more fuzzed out though. Good shit as alway, Joel.

i love cassettes but it sucks when you can't play them in the car because it doesn't have a tape deck. oh how the tables have turned.

That blog is so interesting. I must say that at first I thought it would be a waste of time, but after reading your post was impressed with its quality. I just hope that over time you continue maintaining the same quality, and most of the same passion at the time of writing.
