An interview about interviews could turn into some MC Escher/Wheaties box/hall-of-mirrors-like shit but Miles Raymer’s chat for the Chicago Reader with Ian Svenonius after a Soft Focus shoot in Chicago contained itself, touching only on superficial issues such as motivation behind paradigm changes, radical rhetoric, and general perversity. And Miles got Ian to admit he’s a “modern chat show host who just yells at people.” Just kidding, no he didn’t. The second season of Soft Focus kicks off April 20 with Mike Watt; the episodes shot in Chicago air June 15 (watch Ian and Steve Albini get into a minor snit over the Wipers) and 22 (Mick Collins and Ian act like grownups), but don’t worry, we’ll yank you out of your seasonal oblivion and remind you again at a later date.

this interview with Miles makes me like Ian a trillion times more...which is not much more in today's world but I liked him anyway.

Ian has the most expressive fingers this side of Gollum.
