Well, it seems to have cooled off now (thank Buddha), but Friday was still hot as a motherfuck. After an overnight low of 30, the mercury pretty much sat at 45 degrees the whole day. In Victoria, the effects of four consecutive 40+ days were brutal. Train tracks buckled. Water mains burst. People started bushfires and one asshole even threw a little kid off the West Gate Bridge.
Hellish, no? Well, if by hellish you mean hot enough to fry an egg on the baking hot boot of a car...
Triple J managed to fry most of one. They left it there for a few hours though.

this 50-degree weather is a nice tease of what the spring holds. i'm tired of cold already. getting out from under the covers in the morning is torture.

If there is enough attention here, i'm willing to host a massive open house party this summer in Northcote. it will be debaucherous, we'll have a smoking room, and everyone will smoke cigars, and there will be pornography on the TV, and a massive turkey roast that people will freely be able to tear pieces off of with their fingers. there will be a clothing optional room with a strict guy to girl ratio upheld, a 90's RNB room, a room that ONLY plays led zeppelin, and in the backyard there will be hammocks for people to have sex in, tied up to the 3 trees all next to each other at the back fo the house. D&M clowns can hang out on the front stoop, and the rest of us can party until the crazy hours of the morning, where we will all walk the streets naked covered in our own feces (..if you want). I'll talk to my housemates about it, but it should be ok.
