You know when you try to be polite and invite the biggest of your spaz friends to something you're going to and you email them location and other pertinent details in advance, only to see at the peak of the good times, when it's very loud and you're making headway with someone pursuable, they're trying to call? So of course you don't answer, and instead of just texting you whatever the issue is like a smart monkey they leave a slurring, irate, insulting voice message that you don't listen to until a week later? people learned to stop leaving messages for me a long, long time ago when i left my voicemail box full for a good six months. that'll teach 'em. now the only message i get are from the phone company telling me my bill is past due. it makes life so much easier.

truthfully, does anyone listen to a voicemail before calling the person back unless it's a number you don't recognize? when i do finally listen to my messages they're always a few days old and i most likely spoke with the person that called me less than 30 seconds after they hung up.
