If you had to pinpoint the highlight of many of the live shows you’ve seen in the last ten years, you’d likely admit that is was the moment when the band you were watching executed a reference-fuelled cover version of one of their favourite songs. Sure, seeing Ryan Adams do his own stuff is fine but seeing him do his take on The Rolling Stones’ “Brown Sugar” is, well, better.
Taking this idea and running with it, Puma are presenting the Archive Uncovered series - parties in Melbourne and Sydney where a bunch of amazing bands will be brought together to play nothing but cover songs harking back to the music that they love and respect.
The bands taking on the covers challenge are:
SYDNEY - January 5, The Metro Theatre
The Hives (Sweden)
Children Collide
Boy + Girl
MELBOURNE - December 28, The Hi Fi Bar & Ballroom
Cassette Kids
Children Collide
Hot Little Hands
Boy + Girl

britney speares - opps i did again - basically its a classically hands down catcy song (esp.the beginnings keyboard bassline). mike patton covered it with ?? - although it was in sarcasm, the song still rocked and i felt i could tell they did enjoy playing it.
