SCOTLAND – GET THE CATMAN OF GREENOCK OUT OF MY HEAD!

This is a page by and for Neds. They are essentially Glaswegian Chavs but about 20 times more violent. I got to this page after seeing VICE UK’s "Wee Man" post which is a funny parody of Neds (I hope) but the true highlight of this link is entitled "The Catman of Greenock" about halfway down. This man crawls around the cozy fishing village of Greenock on his belly eating rats and whatever else he can find. His face is black with soot and garbage residue. One can't help but ask, "Here Catman hoo dud you end up l' this?" Update: He's on MySpace.

the notch in his head is a wound from an attack, he was attacked by a group of young lads, they broke both his legs, cut out his tongue and slashed him all over his body with a machete, hitting him directly on his skull.

its a miracle he survived the attack, i have a lot of interest in this guy, im amazed that a human can actually adapt to the homeless life so much as to capture and eat rats, to be honest im suprised a study hasnt been carried out on the man.

The cozy fishing village of Greenock,do your research.Greenock may have had a fishing industry years ago but it was known for shipbuilding and more or less every man worked there.Now the population has fell and drugs are a constant misery in the town.I also think its a disgrace that the man has been allowed to live that way,rumours always go around about him dying i just hope its not too late.

Really, you have to get the facts right.
The "Catman" is a run-away with mental problems.
He ranaway from home when his parents died and he's lived his life like this. He's apparently injured because of his lifestyle. Not from the NEDs.
And Greenock is not a fishing town.
And for someone who appears to be very interested in him, you clearly haven't looked hard enough, otherwise you'd find a documentary all about him.
This man HIDES from other humans and he never stays in the one place. How can someone possibly find him, let alone communicate with him.

u are all so sad coming on here and and making fum of that poor man we all grew up in lynedoch st and we used to make him up sandwiches and take him food in the late 80's early 90's. we used to call him mr collins.He always rawled out of the tunnel when we came to give him food. it is terrible to think how the next generation of children fukin attacked him with machetes its a fucking disgrace think shame on all of u.

IT MAKES YOU WONDER ABOUT 5YRS AGO THE POLICE WENT UP TO WILSONS BUS GARAGE WHERE THE CATMAN HAS BEEN SEEN ON MANY OCCASIONS. THERE WAS A SOCIAL WORKER THERE WITH THEM THEY TELL ME HE MADE OFF QUICKLY WHEN HE SPOTED THEM SO THEY JUST LEFT IT AT THAT SAYING THEY COULDNT CATCH HIM.I FIND IT VERY STRANGE WHY NO ONE CONTINUED TO SEARCH FOR HIM AS HE SURELY NEEDS HELP.WHY NOT GET A LOAN OF THE THERMAL IMMAGING CAMERA FROM THE LOCAL FIRE BRIGADE AND SEARCH FOR HIM, YOU ONLY HAVE TO LOOK AT THE COLOUR OF HIM AND IT TELLS YOU WHERE HE MIGHT BE LIVING,THE CLUE IS IN CHARCOAL THAT IS PRODUCED IN THE COMPANY NEXT DOOR CHECK OUT THE CELLARS THIS GUY NEEDS HELP .OR DOUSE NO ONE CARE?

I first met catman in late 90s i gave him chocolate and shaked his hand he couldnt talk only nodded his head but could understand us, i heard my freind shat ona roll and gave it to him but he just picked the shite off the roll and eat it, ive not seen him since think hes dead.

I'm from Greenock and I personally have only seen the video, although i have heard the rumours. He is just a homeless man that has lived on the street's so long that he has forgoten how to do the basic human things, like talk. Also, Greenock is not a fishing village, our town has a collage, a theatre, a cinema, a shopping centre e.c.t. Oh and contrary to popular belief, Greenock is not mainly neds, junkies and drugs, infact the minority of drug users are looked down upon.

I get that he won't get close to people and that's fair enough considering half the comments i've read about him on the internet.
